New Mexico 08'

This past summer we went back to New Mexico with the whole family! For many years now the Dawson clan has been going to a quaint little place known as Sleepy Valley. This place holds so many memories for the family. This summer was no exception.

Connie and I spent the first few days sick and in bed! That was a bit disappointing, but once we felt better we all enjoyed a number of activities. We hung out by the stream that runs just behind all three cabins, set food out for and watched the many hummingbirds, played with and delighted in time with Sophia, competed for Dawson pride in Dominos and Scategories, read book after book after book, took long and lazy naps, literally stopped to smell the flowers, explored the wilderness, reminisced about the "days of old", laughed until we cried, and more!

Each time we visit Sleepy Valley we're all reminded of how beautiful our world is. The mountains are majestic. The colors somehow seem brighter and more vibrant. The air is fresh. The days are long. The nights are filled with more stars than you can ever see in the city. Mostly, the uninterrupted time with family somehow seems sweeter.
